first class childcare with honours

Bronwyn Price

Hello, I’m Bronwyn and I am the Senior Nursery Manager overseeing the activities at both Ilkeston and Beeston.

From the age of 5 I knew that I wanted to work with children.  I did several placements including being a Nanny, the Royal School for the Deaf, Hardwick Infant School, Grampian Primary School and Nursery and Ford Street Family Support Centre.

In 1992/3 I was involved in playschemes with the church.  In 1992 I did my NNEB in Childcare.  I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 1994 and worked at Grampian School.  I became Creche Worker in Charge for Derbyshire County Council, then I became Creche Coordinator and ran 2 playschemes for Draycott Parish Council.  In 2001 I qualified as an NVQ Assessor.

I continue to update my qualifications including courses in BSL, the Foundation Stage, Child Psychology, First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene, Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Additional Needs, Health and Safety (Risk Assessment), Working with Children Under 2, Effective Staff Deployment, Communication, Language and Literacy and Birth to Three Matters.  I am currently studying an NVQ Level 4 and hope to progress on to a degree course shortly.
